이 장면은 많은 사람들에게서 지탄을 받았습니다.

어쩌면 이것이 지금 기독교를 바라보는 사람들의 마음을 정확히 보여주는 것은 아닐까요?

하느님을 '종'처럼 여기는 신앙

한마디로 용서되는 죄?

"어떻게 죄가 말 한마디로 용서가 되는가?"

이것이 많은 이들이 품고 있는 의문입니다.

하느님을 나의 종처럼 여기는 신앙, 내가 "용서해 주세요"라고 말하면 모든 것이 깨끗해진다고 믿는 태도. 이것이 과연 진정한 신앙일까요?

잊혀진 고통들

진정한 회개는 이런 것입니다:

내 죄로 인해 고통받은 자들의 고통을 처절하게 느끼는 것

지금도 내가 저지른 죄로 고통받는 사람들을 생각하며 뉘우치는 것

그들을 향해 실제로 행동하는 것

이러한 통회와 회개 없이, 단지 "하느님이 용서하셨으니 내 죄는 사라졌다"고 말하는 것은 진실한 사함이 아닙니다.

죄의 사함: 한 번에 이루어지지 않는 과정

더러운 물과 은총

죄의 사함은 더러운 물이 담겨 있는 그릇에 계속 은총이 부어지면서 맑아지는 과정과도 같습니다.

한 번에 새 그릇이 되어 다시 시작하는 것이 아닙니다.

새로운 인간이 되는 길

하느님이 나의 죄를 용서해 주셨다고 해서, 나는 자동으로 새로운 인간이 되는 것이 아닙니다.

용서를 받았으니, 이제 내가 해야 할 일이 있습니다:

내가 고통을 준 자들에게 속죄하며 선하게 살아야 합니다

경제적으로 고통을 준 자에게는 경제적으로 되갚아야 합니다

상처를 입힌 이들에게 실질적인 회복을 제공해야 합니다

마틴 루터와 '믿음만으로' 구원론의 위험

종교개혁의 맥락

"믿음만 있으면 구원을 받는다."

하지만 우리는 어떻습니까?

성당을 다니면서 사업이 잘되기를 바라고

아이들이 좋은 학교에 가기를 바라며

기복 신앙에 빠집니다

모든 것을 가지려는 욕심 때문에 우리는 고통과 악에서 헤어나지 못합니다.

원죄와 선택의 어려움

악을 향한 경향

원죄 때문에 인간은 선한 선택보다는 악을 더 쉽게 선택하는 경향이 있습니다.

그럼에도 불구하고

그렇다고 해서 늘 선을 선택하는 것이 불가능한 것은 아닙니다.

어렵지만, 불가능하지 않습니다.

하느님의 은총과 함께, 우리의 의지와 함께, 우리는 선을 선택할 수 있습니다.

진정한 용서의 의미

용서는 시작일 뿐

"하느님이 용서하셨다"는 말은 끝이 아니라 시작입니다.

이제 나는 어떻게 살 것인가?

내가 상처 입힌 사람들을 어떻게 회복시킬 것인가?

나는 어떤 행동으로 나의 회개를 보여줄 것인가?

무게 있는 고백

"용서받았습니다"라는 말은 가볍게 할 수 있는 말이 아닙니다.

그것은 평생의 책임을 받아들이는 선언이어야 합니다.

우리에게 남겨진 질문

당신은 용서를 받았습니까?

그렇다면, 이제 무엇을 하고 있습니까?

"용서는 끝이 아니라 시작입니다."

하느님의 용서는 우리를 자유롭게 하지만,

그 자유는 책임 없는 자유가 아닙니다.

상처 입힌 이들을 회복시키고,

선하게 살아가는 책임 있는 자유입니다.

Perhaps this accurately captures the feelings of those who look at Christianity today?

Faith That Treats God Like a 'Servant'

Sins Forgiven With Just One Word?

"How can sins be forgiven with just one word?"

This is the question many people hold.

Faith that treats God like my servant—the attitude of believing that everything becomes clean when I say "please forgive me." Can this truly be genuine faith?

Forgotten Suffering

True repentance looks like this:

• Acutely feeling the pain of those who suffered because of my sins
• Thinking of and regretting those who still suffer from the sins I committed
• Actually taking action toward them

Without such contrition and repentance, simply saying "God has forgiven me, so my sins have disappeared" is not true forgiveness.

Forgiveness of Sins: A Process Not Accomplished All at Once

Dirty Water and Grace

The forgiveness of sins is like the process of dirty water in a vessel gradually becoming clear as grace is continuously poured into it.

It is not becoming a new vessel all at once and starting over.

The Path to Becoming a New Person

Just because God has forgiven my sins does not mean I automatically become a new person.

Having received forgiveness, there are things I must now do:

• I must live virtuously, making amends to those I caused suffering
• To those I hurt economically, I must repay them economically
• I must provide actual restoration to those I wounded

This is Martin Luther's theology. It was meaningful that he initiated the Reformation to break the power and rigid faith of the Catholic Church at that time.

Why Did God Come?

To Give Meaning, Not Blessings

God did not come to humans to give blessings.

He came to give meaning to all the evil and suffering in the world.

That is why Jesus suffered on the cross. The meaning is that He bore all the suffering of this world.

But what about us?

• We go to church hoping our business will prosper
• Hoping our children will get into good schools
• We fall into prosperity gospel

Because of the greed to have everything, we cannot escape from suffering and evil.

Original Sin and the Difficulty of Choice

Because of original sin, humans have a tendency to choose evil more easily than good choices.

Nevertheless

However, this does not mean it is impossible to always choose good.

It is difficult, but not impossible.

With God's grace, together with our will, we can choose good.

The True Meaning of Forgiveness

Forgiveness Is Only the Beginning

The statement "God has forgiven me" is not the end but the beginning.

• How will I live now?
• How will I restore those I wounded?
• What actions will show my repentance?

A Weighty Confession

"I have been forgiven" is not a statement that can be made lightly.

It must be a declaration of accepting lifelong responsibility.

The Question Left for Us

Have you been forgiven?

If so, what are you doing now?

"Forgiveness is not the end but the beginning."

God's forgiveness sets us free,
But that freedom is not freedom without responsibility.
It is responsible freedom—
To restore those we wounded,
To live virtuously.
