St. Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager who deeply loved the Eucharist and shared the faith online; he died at fifteen and was canonized in 2025.

Life

Carlo Acutis was born in London in 1991 to Italian parents and grew up in Milan. After his First Communion he went to Mass and Eucharistic adoration as often as he could, ideally every day.

He was gifted with computers and created an exhibition and website presenting Eucharistic miracles from around the world. He was an ordinary boy who enjoyed his friends, yet he looked out for the poor and for lonely classmates. He died of leukemia in 2006 at fifteen and was buried in Assisi. He was canonized in 2025.

Spirituality

Carlo's spirituality is a daily life centered on the Eucharist. He is remembered for calling the Eucharist his highway to heaven. He showed that talents and technology, too, can be used for God and for others.

Reflection

Phones and the internet fill much of our day. Like Carlo, could we use these tools today to pass on something good to someone?
