Arrested in the Gihae persecution of 1839, she did not deny her faith through interrogation and torture. She was beheaded outside Seosomun in Seoul on December 29, 1839.

Spirituality

Magdalena Yi Yong-dok's spirituality is the offering of an undivided heart to God. She gave her youth wholly to God and kept that offering up to the moment she gave her life.

Reflection

Magdalena Yi gave her youth entirely to God. How much of my time and heart do I give to God? Today, why not set aside one hour and spend it for the Lord?
